Contact Your Legislators for National Library Legislative Day

A record number of nearly 600 library supporters, came to 
Washington, DC today to participate in the 25th Annual National 
Library Legislative Day.  Even if you were unable to attend the 
meetings and Congressional visits in person, you can still add 
your voice to the hundreds who will be sharing library messages 
with their members of Congress this week.  The ALA Washington 
Office Web site contains sample letters and issue briefs on the
following:
* the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary 
  Education Act
* continued support for the E-rate
* new copyright protections for databases
* funding for the Library Services and Construction Act

Join us in celebrating the 25th Annual National Library Legislative 
Day.
