Approximately seven awards averaging $150,000 per year for up to three years are available. Applications should meet one or more of the priorities set forth in the Department of Education's Research Priorities Plan. The Field-Initiated Studies Grant Program is supported by five national research institutes within OERI, including the National Institute of Postsecondary Education, Libraries, and Lifelong Learning (http://www.ed.gov/offices/OERI/PLLI/). Research about academic, public, and school library services relating to OERI's invitational priorities as well as the missions of OERI's institutes is encouraged. Applications will be available on April 18, 1997; the closing date is June 9, 1997.
