This bill will be the vehicle to reauthorize both museum and library programs administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Representative Pete Hoekstra, (R-MI), Chairman of the House Select Education Subcommittee and Representative Tim Roemer, (D-IN), Ranking Minority Member of the Subcommittee are listed as the main sponsors, and are joined by the following list of House members: Reps. It is expected that the Select Education Subcommittee will mark up the legislation next week. ACTION NEEDED: Please contact your Representative and ask him/her to sign on to the legislation, H.R. 3784. Tell staff how library program dollars work in your state. Let us know if there is need for follow-up. The more sponsors we can get for this legislation before it comes to the floor, the better chance there will be for approval.
