Return to the Table of Contents Historical NoteThe Mount Holyoke Friends of Art was founded in 1931, by Caroline M. Galt. Its purpose is to "vitalize the artistic life of the college and to provide for exhibitions of sculpture and painting so necessary to the development in the students of art appreciation." They also help provide funds that are necessary for art exhibitions at Mount Holyoke for the college and the surrounding community.
