Biographical Note

Marie Pond was born October 19, 1862. She served in France with the American Red Cross during World War I, from December 1917 to June 1919. She died August 14, 1957.

Scope and Contents of the Collection

The Pond Papers consist of an annotated scrapbook documenting her work with the American Red Cross in Europe during World War I. The scrapbook contains photographs, postcards, documents, clippings, and memorabilia. Includes many photographs of war-torn France, labeled in detail.
