In the late 1980s, Sr. Ann volunteered to teach and care for patients of the leprosy wing of a Guayaquil hospital. Realizing the many needs of these patients, she formed Damien House in the 1990s as both a distinct segment of the hospital and as a charitable foundation based in Chicago, Illinois. |
