BIOGRAPHICAL AND HISTORICAL NOTEFriends Circle, a Hicksite Quaker study and social group, was established in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1884, to discuss topics of mutual interest. Originally the Circle met in the homes of members, but after the Park Avenue meeting house opened in March 1889, the meeting house library became the regular location.
